Dũng lost his hand in the 1990s due to a mine explosion. He has tried wearing a few prosthetic arms, including cosmetic prosthetics and mechanical prosthetics which he found not convenient and comfortable to use in daily life. He started wearing the Vulcan arm in 2020 and has since become a big fan. He uses it to drive a motorbike – take his grandkids to school – help his wife with cooking, fix stuff around the house, and even did haircuts for his family members during covid lockdown period.”
